Dr. John Grunsfeld
Associate Administrator for the Science Mission Directorate
NASA

Dr. John Grunsfeld is the Associate Administrator for the Science Mission Directorate at NASA Headquarters. He has previously served as NASA’s Chief Scientist, the Deputy Director of the Space Telescope Science Institute in Baltimore, and as an astronaut servicing the International Space Station and the Hubble Telescope. Grunsfeld’s background includes research in high energy astrophysics, cosmic ray physics and in the emerging field of exoplanet studies with specific interest in future astronomical instrumentation. Dr. Grunsfeld will speak on NASA’s Science Mission Directorate’s research priorities.
