At the recent American Electromagnetics Conference (AMEREM2018) held Aug 27-31, 2018 in Santa Barbara, California, Ph.D. student Min Zhou of the University of Maryland Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) Department was awarded a Best Student Paper Award for her contribution “Statistics of Fields in Nonlinear Wave Chaotic Systems: The Random Coupling Model Approach.”

The Best Student Paper Awards (BSPA) were given to two outstanding students who were first authors on a conference contribution.  The awards were granted based on a full paper submitted and presented in addition to the regularly extended abstract required for the conference. The award was presented by Nicolas Mora, Research and Development Engineer at Montena in Switzerland.

Ms. Zhou is advised by Professor Anlage of the Department of Physics and an Affiliate of ECE, and Professors Antonsen (ECE/PHY/IREAP) and Ott (ECE/PHY).
