Alumna Hong Zhao To Join University of Alberta Faculty

Hong (Vicky) Zhao

Alumna Hong (Vicky) Zhao will join the Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) Department at the University of Alberta, Canada, as assistant professor this July.

Hong Zhao received her Ph. D degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Maryland in December 2004. Her advisor was Professor K. J. Ray Liu (ECE/ISR). Since February 2005, Hong Zhao has been a research associate with the Institute for Systems Research (ISR), working with Prof. Liu on multimedia security and digital forensics. She co-authored the book Multimedia Fingerprinting Forensics for Traitor Tracing (Hindawi, 2005), together with Prof. Liu, Prof. Wade Trappe (ECE Department, Rutgers University), Prof. Z. Jane Wang (ECE, Univ. of British Columbia, Canada), and Prof. Min Wu (ECE/UMIACS). Her research interests include information security and forensics, multimedia, digital communications and signal processing.
