“Baltimore, We Love You” is a documentary-action project that serves to highlight those being undermined through poverty in Baltimore city, using documentary film and the internet. The purpose of this project is to create a stark relationship between ordinary citizens and those that often go unnoticed and by giving them a voice rather than defining them as a bare statistic. By giving the mic to individuals who are actually challenged by difficult settings, we humanize the trials they face. As one of Amnesty International USA’s 12 Organizing Cities and Roosevelt Institute’s Think 2040 projects, BWLY platforms the city and initiates a public dialogue with the use of film and social media.
