Chellappa Receives IEEE SPS Award, Speaks at IEEE Workshop

Prof. Rama Chellappa

Professor Rama Chellappa (ECE/UMIACS/CS) has received the IEEE Signal Processing Society 2007 Meritorious Service Award. The Signal Processing Society is an international organization whose purpose is to advance and disseminate state-of-the-art scientific information and resources related to signal processing to the global community. An awards ceremony will take place at the 33rd International Conference on Acoustics, Speech, and Signal Processing (ICASSP '08) on April 1, 2008 in Las Vegas.

Dr. Chellappa will also give an invited lecture at the IEEE Sponsored Workshop on Motion, held at Copper Mountain Resort in Colorado on January 7-9, 2008. The title of his talk is "Statistical and Structural Inference Methodologies for Pattern Recognition in Videos."
