O'Shea Article Featured in Physics Today

Prof. Patrick O'Shea

An article co-authored by ECE Department Chair and Professor Patrick O'Shea was a feature in the February 2008 issue of Physics Today, a publication of the American Institute of Physics.

The feature, titled "Electron sources for accelerators," was co-written by Carlos Hernandez-Garcia and Marcy Stutzman, both staff scientists at the Thomas Jefferson National Accelerator Facility in Newport News, Va. The article discusses technological challenges related to the generation of electron beams that are required for free-electron lasers and particle-physics accelerators.
