Alumnus Adly Elected IEEE Fellow

ECE alumnus Amr A. Adly (Ph.D., '92) has been elected as a new fellow of the Institute of Electrical & Electronic Engineers (IEEE). He was recognized for his contributions to multi-component magnetic hysteresis models.

Dr. Adly currently serves as Professor of Engineering and Vice Dean for Education and Students Affairs at Cairo University, Egypt. During his time as a Ph.D. student at the University of Maryland, he was advised by Prof. Isaak Mayergoyz.

The IEEE is the world’s leading professional association for advancing technology for humanity. Through its 385,000 members in 160 countries, the association is a leading authority on a wide variety of areas ranging from aerospace systems, computers and telecommunications to biomedical engineering, electric power and consumer electronics.

The title of IEEE Fellow is conferred by the IEEE Board of Directors upon those with an outstanding record of accomplishments in any of the IEEE fields of interest. IEEE Fellow is the highest grade of membership and is recognized by the technical community as a prestigious honor and an important career achievement.
