Career Fair Details for Employers

The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) Career Fair is held twice a year during both the spring and fall semesters.  Each fair is attended by approximately 40 employers looking to hire from our accomplished group of students.  An average of 400 to 450 students can be expected to attend each fair.  Employers will have the opportunity to meet with undergraduates, graduate students, and students from our Masters of Telecommunications Program, all of whom are seeking either internships or full-time employment. 

In addition to ECE students, students from other engineering departments may be invited if you indicate your preferences on our registration form.

The Electrical and Computer Engineering Career Fair is separate from the University of Maryland Career Fair for all engineering majors.

The Fall Career Fair is scheduled for 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm on Friday, October 18, 2024.

The cost of the ECE Career Fair is $600.

Early Bird Registration will be $500 for employers registering before Friday, September 20, 2024.

The Fair is free for ECE Corporate Affiliates.  Upon registering on our online registration site, an invoice will be mailed to you. Payment can be made by check or credit card.

Registration for the Spring Career Fair will open on August 5, 2024

Each employer will have access to one table and two chairs. Each table will have a tablecloth.  Please be advised that we cannot provide access to electrical outlets at employer tables.  A Continental Breakfast and Lunch is included in the package.

If you have packages that you would like to have sent ahead of time, please contact Darcy Long for shipping instructions (dlong123@umd.edu).  If you would like return shipping arranged, please bring return labels and shipping tape on the day of the event.  We are able to process return shipping for Career Fair packages.  Please allow 5 business days for packages to be processed.

Information on parking will be emailed one week prior to the fair.

If you are bringing supplies the day of the Career Fair, please use Engineering Drive between the Kim Building and Clark Hall to unload for either building.  Because this is a side street, early arrival is suggested to avoid congestion.  Please plan on a maximum of 10 minutes for unloading.  We suggest having two people when unloading supplies so that one can stay with your items while the other parks the car.

In the event of inclement weather, check http://www.umd.edu, call 301.405.7669, or tune into local radio and television stations beginning at 6:00 am to hear if the University of Maryland, College Park campus is closed or if campus opening will be delayed for a specific number of hours. If the University of Maryland is closed due to inclement weather, then all events will be canceled. We will be in touch with you via e-mail to discuss the next steps. If no information is given, you should assume the campus is open.
