MEI ITA Evaluation

All international students serving as teaching assistants in the fall are required to take the International Teaching Assistant Evaluation given by the Maryland English Institute (MEI).

Who should attend? Mandatory for all international students serving as teaching assistants in the fall. Our office will contact you with more information about this evaluation over the summer.

Payroll and Benefits Orientation 

The Payroll Office of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering will hold a Payroll and Benefits Orientation. International students should have access to their passports and I-20s, and US citizens and permanent residents should have access to their driver's licenses. If possible, all students should have their bank account information to set-up direct deposit. To view descriptions of health benefit plans and insurance premiums for each plan prior to the payroll orientation, visit the University Human Resources website.

Teaching and Learning Transformation Center (TLTC) TA Orientation

TLTC will offer a Live Webinar for Graduate TAs and also provide optional asynchronous resources for new TAs. New TAs will be required to attend one of the sessions offered.

Who should attend? This University-wide TA orientation is mandatory for all students who will be serving as a TA for the first time in the fall, including fellows. Attendance is a requirement of the TA contract.
