Thank you for your interest in the Electrical & Computer Engineering programs at the University of Maryland.  This page contains useful information for prospective freshman students interested in one of our majors.

Admissions/Contact Information

All of the programs in the A. James Clark School of Engineering are limited enrollment programs, meaning that applicants have to meet specific admissions guidelines beyond the regular University admissions requirements.  The freshman admissions process for the Clark School of Engineering is handled by the Office of Undergraduate Admissions and the Clark School's Undergraduate Advising Office.  We strongly encourage prospective freshmen students to contact these offices so they can learn about the freshman admissions process and the requirements for admissions into the Engineering programs.

The Transfer Credit Services (TCS) at the University of Maryland can provide students with information on how students can earn credit through AP or IB exam scores.  High school students who have the opportunity to enroll in college courses, can also find information about the transferability of these courses to UMD.
