Ahmadi, Lee Win Everitt Award for Student Excellence
ECE undergraduates Amir Ahmadi and Jeffrey Lee have received the International Engineering Consortium’s (IEC) 2006 William L. Everitt Student Award of Excellence. The award honors outstanding seniors in electrical and computer engineering at affiliate universities across the country who are in the top 10% of their class and have an interest in the communications field.
Ahmadi is an ECE Honors student and participated in the MERIT and TREND summer research programs in 2004 and 2005, respectively. He earned first runner-up honors in the 2004 MERIT Fair competition, and took first prize in the 2005 TREND competition. Ahmadi will attend MIT in the fall for graduate study.
Lee is a member of the Eta Kappa Nu honor society. He participated in the MERIT summer research program in 2005, working on a project in which he modeled the sonar behavior of bats with circuits. He will attend the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign this fall for graduate study.
The students will have their names added to the Everitt Award Plaque in the display case in the A.V. Williams Building outside of room 2460.
