Dr. Petru Andrei (Ph.D., '04)

ECE alumnus Petru Andrei was recently promoted with tenure to the position of Associate Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Florida State University and Florida A&M University.

Dr. Andrei, who was advised by Prof. Isaak Mayergoyz, earned his Ph.D. in electrical engineering at the University of Maryland in 2004. He joined the FAMU & FSU College of Engineering  in Fall 2004.

Dr. Andrei has published on the modeling and simulation of nanoscale semiconductor devices and magnetic materials, and on computational electromagnetics. He is particularly interested in the analysis of fluctuations and noise in ultrasmall semiconductor devices, quantum mechanical induced effects in nanoscale devices (nanobelts. CNT, graphene, etc.), redesign and optimization techniques, inverse problems, modeling and analysis of magnetic properties of nanostructure systems, fast multipole methods, magnetic semiconductors, hysteresis, and thermal relaxation phenomena in nanostructures.
