Undergrad O’Connor Earns Phi Beta Kappa Honors, Best Thesis Award

ECE undergraduate Alan O’Connor was one of four A. James Clark School of Engineering students to earn election this semester to Phi Beta Kappa, the oldest and most widely respected academic honorary society in the United States.

Alan also received the Sujan Guha Memorial Award for Best Thesis in Electrical Engineering. The award comes with a $500 prize.

Alan has been a member of the ECE Honors program and the University Honors and Gemstone programs while attending the University of Maryland. He has worked on research with ECE Professor Dr. P.S. Krishnaprasad. Alan will graduate with a B.S. in electrical engineering on Monday, May 22.
