Title: Coherent optical control of spin qubits in ZnSe
Abstract:
Impurities in II-VI semiconductors are promising qubit candidates for future quantum information technologies. Single donor impurities in ZnSe can couple to bound exciton states and emit single photons, while the optical transitions enable manipulation of the donor electron spin. Previous studies on single impurity-bound excitons mainly relied on incoherent above-band excitation, whereas resonant pumping of the bound exciton is required for coherent operations of the quantum system. This research proposal aims to present experimental results on the resonant excitation of single Cl-impurity-bound excitons in ZnSe, and to propose the experiments for coherent optical control of the donor-defect electron spin. Through the coherent control of the spin and the exciton states, we aim to demonstrate spin-photon entanglement, which will set the stage for quantum networks based on single impurities.
