Alumnus Tahmassebi Named President and CEO of LedEngin

David Tahmassebi, a 1986 B.S. alumnus in electrical engineering, has been named the new President and CEO of LedEngin, a company that produces ultra high-power Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs).

Tahmassebi has a wealth of experience in growing privately held companies. He previously held the position of Executive-In-Residence with WK Technology Funds. Prior to WK Technology funds, Tahmassebi served as President and CEO of Berkana Wireless. During his tenure as CEO at Berkana, he successfully led the strategic and financial development and product direction before the company was sold to Qualcomm in December of 2005. Before joining Berkana Wireless, David was co-founder, president and CEO of Resonext Communication.

LedEngin is a high-power LED components and modules company offering expertise in thermal design, stress management, optical design, materials, and automated manufacturing processes in solid-state lighting.
