Research from Charalampos (Babis) Papamanthou, Assistant Professor of ECE with an appointment in UMIACS and a member of MC2, has ranked high on the list of top-cited Security Papers, recently released by Professor Konrad Rieck of Technische Universitat Braunschweig.
His highly-cited papers are published at two top-tier security conferences (CCS and SSP-Oakland) and citations from Papamanthou’s work are eminent among the following papers: “Dynamic provable data possession” co-authored C. Christopher Erway, Alptekin Kupcu, and Roberto Tamassia (while Papamanthou was in graduate school), earned the #4 spot for papers in 2009. “Dynamic searchable symmetric encryption” co-authored Seny Kamara and Tom Roeder, earned the #10 spot for papers in 2012. In 2016, Papamanthou and co-authors Ahmed E. Kosba (Ph.D. student of Papamanthou and Shi), Andrew Miller, Elaine Shi, and Zikai Wen, earned the #1 spot for most cited paper in 2016 for their article titled “Hawk: The Blockchain Model of Cryptography and Privacy-Preserving Smart Contracts.”
The citations for each paper have been determined by carefully crawling the DBLP service and Google Scholar.
