Techno-Sciences Selected as Maryland High Tech Company of the Year

Techno-Sciences, Inc. (TSi), a Beltsville, Md. company founded by a Clark School professor and led by a Clark School Board of Visitors member, was selected by the Maryland Technology Council as the High Technology Company of the Year in the State of Maryland.

TSi was presented with the award at the 22nd Annual Tech Awards on May 13. The Tech Council of Maryland (TCM), the state's largest technology trade association, announced the winners to more than 800 technology and business leaders from around the region.

TSi's CEO is Clark School Board of Visitors Member Jean-Luc Abaziou, and the company was founded by Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) Gil Blankenship.

"We are delighted when our faculty and students work to transform their research into commercial products and services that do good for society," said ECE Chairman Dr. Patrick O'Shea.

"This was a night to celebrate Maryland, its innovative businesses and entrepreneurs, and the achievements of our members during this past year," said Renée M. Winsky, CEO of TCM. TCM is the largest technology trade association in the state with more than 500 members and representing 250,000 people in Maryland and the region. TCM has two major divisions: MdTech which services the advanced technology community and MdBio for the region's biotechnology community.
