Dr. Furong Huang specializes in trustworthy machine learning, AI for sequential decision-making, and high-dimensional statistics. Her research bridges theory and practice, advancing robust and interpretable models that function reliably in dynamic, real-world environments.

A central focus of her current work is the development of foundation models for robotics—general-purpose models that can drive perception, planning, and control across diverse robotic platforms and tasks. By leveraging abstraction, world modeling, and action-informed learning, she aims to enable scalable and adaptable robot intelligence.

Dr. Huang’s work contributes to safe, aligned, and data-efficient AI systems that support long-term autonomy and human-AI collaboration.
