The event was organized by Assistant/Academic Advisor Meriam Meghirbi and Associate Director of Administrative Affairs Steve Norton of the ECE Undergraduate Studies office.

Students represented their countries of origin by bringing traditional foods for fellow students to sample, dressing in traditional outfits, and bringing traditional music to play. Sixteen countries were represented at the event, including Bangladesh, Belgium, Benin, Burma, Cameroon, China, Egypt, El Salvador, India, Iran, Peru, Senegal, Taiwan, Tunisia, United Arab Emirates, and Vietnam. The event was held in the Kay Boardrooms in the Jeong H. Kim Engineering Building on the University of Maryland College Park campus.
