Title: A STATISTICAL STUDY OF MIXED SYETEM
Abstract: Mixed systems are the systems that have coexisting chaotic and regular trajectories. My study is to calculate the statistics of the mixed systems cavity normalized impedance. I apply the ray tracing method to explore and verify two types of mixed systems: “Four Arcs” and “Peanut”. Billiard trajectories of these two mixed systems are plotted in real space and phase space. I attempt to apply the generalized Random Coupling Model (RCM) to study the normalized impedance of these two mixed systems. To obtain information needed for the generalized RCM, Method of Moments (MOM) is implemented to numerically calculate the eigenfrequencies and eigenmodes of our concerned 2D cavities. As a preliminary study of applying the generalized RCM, I calculate the statistics of lossless and lossy normalized impedance of a two-port 2D rectangular cavity with Gaussian profile function.
