Shihab Shamma Named ASA Fellow
Professor Shihab Shamma has been named a Fellow of the Acoustical Society of America "for contributions to computational modeling and cortical physiology of the mammalian auditory system." Recently Shamma was awarded a five-year grant from the National Institutes of Health to study “Spectro-Temporal Plasticity in the Primary Auditory Cortex.”
Shamma also was interviewed by National Public Radio's All Things Considered program, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette and Capital News Service after he voted in the Iraqi election at the New Carrolton, Md., polling place.
