Abstract
In nature rhythmic movement is exploited across taxa, scales, and environment. This is a talk about some underlying physical principles, and opportunities for engineers to exploit these in creating novel mobile robotic artifacts. A research and implementation program in this direction may also help accelerate the emerging field of soft robotics.
