Dagenais to Co-Chair POEM 2013
Professor Mario Dagenais (ECE) will be the Co-Chair of the 6th Annual International Photonics and Optoelectronics Meeting (POEM 2013) in Wuhan, China from May 24-27, 2013. POEM brings together a wide range of research, technologies and perspectives in the fields of photonics and optoelectronics. The conference will feature two OSA Topical Meetings: Nanophotonics, Nanoelectronics and Nanosensor (N3) and Advanced Optoelectronics for Energy and Environment (AOEE).
Professor Dagenais will also serve as the Co-Chair of the AOEE OSA Topical Meeting; topics discussed will include: solar cells, printed optoelectronics and engergy storage devices. The goal of the AOEE is to provide keys to solve the global energy crisis and environmental problems. The meeting will provide a forum to discuss and provide updates on the progress and challenges at the frontier applications of advanced optoelectronics. Professor Dagenais is also an invited speaker and will present on the topic of Intermediate Band Solar Cells: Promises and Reality.
With interests in III-V integrated opto-electronics, nanotechnology, GaN solar cells and bio-sensing, Dagenais conducts research with the Laboratory for Green Nanophotonics, Optoelectronics and Nanosensing (G-NON) and teaches in ECE.
