Eta Kappa Nu Wins Outstanding Chapter Award
The Gamma Xi Chapter of Eta Kappa Nu, the Electrical and Computer Engineering Honor Society at the University of Maryland, has received the Outstanding Chapter Award for 2009-2010.
The purpose of the Outstanding Chapter Award is to recognize excellence in college chapters. The award is based on the quality of activities as outlined in the Annual Chapter Report, submitted by each chapter. This coveted award is a sign of great distinction for a college chapter.
Eta Kappa Nu is a unique membership organization dedicated to encouraging and recognizing excellence in the electrical and computer engineering field. Members consist of students, alumni, and other professionals. The University of Maryland chapter is headed by President Katie Marcotte and Vice President Peter Phelps.
The award plaque will be formally presented at the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department Heads Association (ECEDHA) Annual Meeting Award banquet on March 14, 2011, at the Tapatio Cliffs Resort in Phoenix, AZ. ECE Department Chair Patrick O'Shea will accept the award on Eta Kappa Nu's behalf.
