This week, Professor Jeremy Munday (ECE/IREAP) gave two invited talks at The Optical Society (OSA) Optics and Photonics Congress on Renewable Energy and the Environment.

His first talk was titled, “New Opportunities for PV Optics Using Quantum Dots, Nanowires and Photonic Crystals.” This speech was for the topical meeting on Optical Nanostructures and Advanced Materials for Photovoltaics (PV).

Munday’s second talk, “Light Trapping Principles and Limits for Photovoltaics,” was for the topical meeting on Optics for Solar Energy (SOLAR).

The Renewable Energy and the Environment portion of the OSA Optics and Photonics Congress ran from November 3-6, 2013 in Tucson, Arizona. This year’s Congress takes place from October 2013-July 2014 in cities all around the world, starting in Paris and ending in Barcelona.
