Dr. Xiangrong Zhou

Xiangrong Zhou, a 2008 ECE Ph.D. graduate, has accepted a faculty position with the University of Hawaii's Electrical Engineering Department. Xiangrong's work is in the area of low-power and real-time embedded system platforms. He is advised by Prof. Peter Petrov. The title of Xiangrong's dissertation, which he successfully defended earlier today, is: "Cross-Layer Customization Platform for Low-Power and Real-Time Embedded Applications."

Xiangrong's research work has introduced a novel cross-layer application-customizable embedded platform, which dynamically exploits application information and fine-tunes system components at system software and hardware layers. This is achieved with the close cooperation and seamless integration of the compiler, the operation system, and the hardware architecture.

Xiangrong will begin his position as Assistant Professor at the University of Hawaii on August 1.
