Ankur Srivastava Promoted to Full Professor
President Wallace Loh and the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering recently promoted Professor Ankur Srivastava (ECE/ISR) from associate professor to full professor.
Srivastava joined the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering in 2002 and has held a joint appointment with the Institute for Systems Research (ISR) since 2008. He currently serves as the Associate Chair of Graduate Studies and Research in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering.
"I sincerely hope to use this as an opportunity to continue my intellectual and academic growth and contribute towards a stronger electrical and computer engineering department, Institute for Systems Research, college, and university,"
"I feel overjoyed and immensely humbled by my colleagues' overwhelming support over many years which has lead to my recent promotion. I sincerely hope to use this as an opportunity to continue my intellectual and academic growth and contribute towards a stronger electrical and computer engineering department, Institute for Systems Research, college, and university," says Srivastava.
Srivastava’s primary research interests lie in the field of high performance, low power electronic systems and applications such as computer vision, data and storage centers, and sensor networks. He develops engineering principles for designing low power, fast, reliable, lightweight, large-scale integrated circuits using nano-scale components. He has received widespread recognition for research that has advanced the frontiers of chip design technology. His research and teaching endeavors have garnered several awards including ISR’s 2014 Outstanding Systems Engineering Faculty award, several best paper awards and best paper nominations, the George Corcoran Memorial Teaching award from ECE, and ACM-SIGDA Outstanding Dissertation Nomination in 2003. With Prof. Gang Qu, Srivastava is part of a new Air Force Office of Scientific Research Multi-University Research Initiative (MURI) on security theory for nano-scale devices.
Srivastava received his B.Tech in Electrical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology Delhi in 1998, M.S. in ECE from Northwestern University in 2000 and Ph.D. in Computer Science from UCLA in 2002.
The ECE department congratulates Professor Srivastava on his promotion and wishes him the best of luck for the future. The promotion will be effective July 1, 2014.
