Espy-Wilson gives keynote address at University of Michigan
On March 28, Professor Carol Espy-Wilson (ECE/ISR) gave the keynote address at an event honoring the life and legacy of Willie Hobbs Moore.
Moore (1934-1994) was the first African-American woman to earn bachelor's and master's degrees in electrical engineering from the University of Michigan, and the the first African-American woman to earn a Ph.D. in Physics at any institution. She went on to have a distinguished career in both academia and industry.
The event was held on the campus of the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, and was sponsored by the UM Society of Black Women in Physics.
