Professor Mohammad Hafezi (ECE/Physics/IREAP/QTC/JQI) has been appointed by Interim Dean Robert Briber as a Minta Martin Professor of the University of Maryland's A. James Clark School of Engineering. This five-year appointment, beginning July 1, 2021, is in recognition of Hafezi’s distinguished contributions to the College.

The Clark School has established a small number of Minta Martin Professorships to recognize the contributions of senior faculty who have distinguished themselves through their high-impact and outstanding research contributions, excellent and innovative education efforts, and influential leadership. The professorships last for five years, and can be renewed. In addition to the title, faculty members receive discretionary funds in support of their research and education endeavors.
