Liu Elected President-Elect of IEEE Signal Processing Society

Dr. K. J. Ray Liu

Professor K. J. Ray Liu has been elected President-Elect of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Signal Processing Society (SPS). The IEEE SPS is the fourth largest society of the more than 40 societies and councils of IEEE, after its computer, communications, and power and energy societies. The IEEE SPS has more than 15,000 members worldwide. He will assume the position of President for 2012-2013.

Dr. Liu has served as the IEEE SPS Vice President for Publications from 2006-08, overseeing IEEE Journal of Selected Topics in Signal Processing, IEEE Signal Processing Letters, IEEE Signal Processing Magazine, IEEE Transactions on Audio, Speech, and Language Processing, IEEE Transactions on Image Processing, IEEE Transactions on Information Forensics and Security, IEEE Transactions on Signal Processing.

As President-Elect, Dr. Liu will oversee strategic and long-range planning activities for the Signal Processing Society and represent the society at IEEE meetings and other gatherings.

ECE Associate Professor Min Wu was also elected as Vice President for Finance of IEEE SPS.
