Mayergoyz Invited to Speak at Workshop in Italy
Last month, Alford L. Ward Professor Isaak Mayergoyz (ECE/UMIACS) spoke at the Workshop on Advanced Computational Electromagnetics (ACE) in Trento, Italy, after being specially invited earlier this year. His talk was titled, “On Universal Numerical Techniques for the Solution of Boundary Integral Equations.”
This year was ACE’s 8th workshop, continuing a series of workshops dedicated to mathematical and conceptual foundations of computational electromagnetics. The event ran from June 5-7, 2013.
The purpose of the workshop is to gather mathematicians, numerical analysts, engineers and software developers who have made significant contributions in their fields to identify problems in discretization of electromagnetics to prompt future research.
Attending ACE ‘13 was not Mayergoyz’s first trip to Italy. In 2011, he attended the 8th International Symposium on Hysteresis Modeling and Micromagnetics (HMM) in Trento and delivered a talk titled, “Plasmon Resonances in Nanoparticles, Their Applications to Magnetics and Relations to the Riemann Hypothesis.”
