BACKGROUND

Moon-Jhong Rhee was born in Korea. He received his B. S. and M. S. degrees in Physics from the Seoul National University in 1958 and 1960, respectively, and his Ph.D. degree in Space Science and Applied Physics from The Catholic University of America in 1970. He is a Professor of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of Maryland at College Park, Maryland and has been with the Department since 1970.

He was a Visiting Professor at the Seoul National University, Korea in 1977-1978, a Visiting Professor at the University of Rosario, Argentina in 1985, and a Visiting Professor at the University of Pohang Science and Technology, Korea in 2000-2001. He is a member of IEEE and APS.

His current research interests include charged particle beams, beam qualities, pulsed power systems, and pseudospark discharge.
